Ideas coming from possibilistic logic have led to propose a new approach to the treatment of uncertainty in databases, where only what is somewhat certain is represented. Besides, the idea of possibilistic functional dependency has led to extend classical database schema design methods to databases having uncertain tuples. A functional dependency is then all the more certain as it fails only on tuples that are very dubious. These works were jointly developed respectively with IRISA in Lannion and with the University of Auckland.
